"The Image of the Week"

This is one of my favorite portraits, this time it's John Wilmot second Earl Rochester, very pompous title of his furniture, was a poet and writing LIBERTINE, beyond its literary qualities emphasized by his scandalous life and their lust poems, in this portrait we can see how it was physically, if the painter did not make him a little favor by portraying, the Earl of Rochester but it had not prevented because it was a very vain and egocentric, but who is not the end of the day.

in this portrait is seen next to a monkey who referred in a provocative gesture yours, was to portray the laurel wreath offering one of his monkeys. He laughed, thus, of Glory and also poetry and to signify the silly human vanity. Wrote its only the beginning were "violent love of pleasure" and his "readiness to extravagant joy."

to sensuality:

"Give me health, wealth, and happiness came
and if you love the spirited haunts
know a beautiful page
that the case is better than forty mops."

(mops Saying referred disparagingly to women or maids)
